In 1997, H.J. O'Connell Construction Ltd. formed a partnership with the Mushuau Innu of Davis Inlet, Labrador to pursue opportunities in the construction of the new community of Natuashish (Sango Bay), Labrador. The partnership successfully constructed an access road, airstrip and terminal building and installed the main water supply line to the new community.

O'Connell has constructed numerous bridges and highway inter-changes, many in very remote northern locations.H.J. O'Connell constructed the majority of the bridges on the Trans Labrador Highway between Labrador West and Goose Bay, NL. The company has also successfully completed numerous concrete foundation projects, particularly for the heavy industry.
